This Privacy Policy explains how the X Filter – Country Blocker browser extension (“Extension”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles your information when you use it on X (Twitter).

By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Overview

X Filter – Country Blocker is a client-side content filter. It analyzes text on x.com / twitter.com in your browser in order to hide tweets and profiles that match rules you configure (countries, languages, writing systems, and keywords).

The Extension is designed to process data locally in your browser. We do not collect or store your tweets, timeline, or profile content on our own servers.

2. Data the Extension Accesses

While running, the Extension may read the following data from pages you open on X (Twitter):

Tweets and replies displayed in your timeline or threads
Profile information such as display name, @handle, bio text, location, and website URL
Tweet metadata exposed by X (for example: language code, hashtags)
Sidebar items such as “Trends” and suggested accounts

This data is accessed only to decide whether to hide or show content based on the filters you configure.

3. Data Stored in Your Browser

The Extension uses the browser’s storage (e.g. chrome.storage.sync) to save your settings, including:

Blocked countries / country codes
Blocked languages (ISO codes)
Blocked profile keywords (bio/name)
Blocked tweet keywords and hashtags
Blocked writing systems / scripts (e.g. Devanagari, Arabic, Cyrillic, etc.)
Whitelist accounts that should never be filtered
Match threshold / sensitivity settings
Whether you are on the Free or Pro plan
Your license key (if you activate Pro)

These settings are stored locally in your browser (and may be synced across your own devices if your browser’s sync is enabled). We do not use these settings to track your identity or behavior across sites.

4. Data Sent to Our Servers

The Extension itself does not send your X content (tweets, profiles, or timeline data) to our servers.

We may receive the following limited information in specific cases:

License verification: When you activate a Pro license, the Extension contacts our license server (e.g. xfilter.store) to validate your license key. The request includes:
- Your license key
- Basic technical data required to process the request (e.g. IP address, time of request)
Payments: If you purchase Pro via our website, your payment is processed by a third-party provider such as Stripe. We do not handle or store your full payment card details; those are processed directly by the payment processor under their own privacy policy.

We do not sell your data, do not use it for targeted advertising, and do not build a profile of your activity on X.

5. How We Use Information

We use information solely for the following purposes:

To apply your filter rules and hide matching content in your X feed
To store and restore your Extension settings across sessions
To verify and manage Pro licenses
To operate and protect our services (e.g. prevent fraud and abuse of licenses)

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension and related services may interact with:

X (Twitter): All content analyzed by the Extension comes from X. Your use of X is governed by X’s own terms and privacy policy.
Payment processor (e.g. Stripe): If you buy Pro, payments are handled by a third-party processor. They may collect billing and payment information as described in their own privacy policy.
License server: Our license verification endpoint (for example https://xfilter.store/verify-license.php) is used only to validate your license key and manage access to Pro features.

7. Data Retention

Extension settings stored in your browser persist until you remove or reset the Extension or clear your browser storage.

License information kept on our servers is retained only as long as necessary to enforce valid usage, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we may have unintentionally received such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Your Choices

You can edit or remove your filters and settings at any time from the Extension’s options page.
You can uninstall the Extension from your browser to stop all filtering and local data storage.
You can clear your browser’s extension storage to remove saved settings.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we process. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your browser and device secure and for not sharing your license key publicly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Extension after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
